Integrated analysis for heterogeneous platform of omics data

Abstract

With the development of biotechnology, huge amounts of high-throughput omics data have been accumulated over the past 10 years. Initially, research on genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenomes based on microarrays started to advance. In recent years, studies using platforms such as WGS, WES, RNA-seq, and MeDIP-seq based on next-generation sequencing have been actively conducted. There has been active research into integrating omics data from other platforms that have been tested for the same purpose (e.g., cancer vs. normal). Heterogeneous platform integration analysis is performed to verify analytical results, secure quantities of insufficient samples, and create experimental designs for statistical analysis. In this study, we systematically review the results of the process of heterogeneous platform integration analysis based on transcriptome data. In addition, we introduce some examples of statistical analysis using integrated data. We build a process system for heterogeneous platform integrated analysis suitable for omics data that can be easily used by various researchers.
